Laura Paglione (she/her)

Partner, Spherical Cow Group

Laura Paglione is on a mission to catalyze, inspire, and scaffold change that drives research toward social impact. In her independent consulting work, she provides expertise in and connections to digital knowledge infrastructure that supports research, and is a catalyst for technical innovation. Laura was the founding Technical Director of ORCID, a global not-for-profit organization with the mission to address name ambiguity for researchers and serve as a gateway to connect their research activities from disparate sources. As a data-driven futurist, she thrives at the intersection of creative, technical, and business environments, and seeks to inspire individuals and organizations to take the road less traveled, embrace alternative solutions, and consider broadly the audiences for whom we create.

Laura earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Brown University, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. She serves on the Steering Committee of InCommon, the United States identity management federation for research and education institutions. She also serves on the board of Nano Hacker Academy, an educational program that mentors middle and high school students in critical thinking and coding.
