A DIRC21 Solo Talk

Inclusive Innovation and Broader Impacts of R&D

Thomas Woodson

Scientists are frantically developing technologies to sustain the world throughout the 21st century; however, it is impossible to solve these problems by only developing solutions in wealthy countries, by wealthy scientists and for wealthy people. The innovations to solve global challenges must be inclusive and people from marginalized groups are central to developing lasting solutions that solve these challenges. In this presentation, Dr. Thomas Woodson will give a summary of developing and assessing inclusive innovations and discuss cutting edge research determining the impact of R&D on marginalized groups.
