Faith Fraser

Acting Director at CUNY Startups

Faith Fraser was born in Guyana, South America and raised in East Flatbush Brooklyn. While attending college she began planning parties, open mic poetry events and her version of the 60’s television show “The Dating Game”. Faith graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in Television and Radio and worked as a Promotions Assistant for 98.7 Kiss FM coordinating on-site events and live broadcast.

Later, while working as an Event Coordinator for the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office, Faith met her former business partner and in 2008 launched her first startup, Fresh Squeezed Events, an event management firm. In pursuit of further education, she closed the business in 2014 went to Graduate school and eventually earned an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business. While at Baruch, Faith worked in the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship, counseling small business clients and as an Adjunct Lecturer teaching a Women and Entrepreneurship course.

In October 2015 Faith co-founded a construction training and certification startup that operates in three locations in of NY State. She is also the Acting Director for CUNY Startups, a CUNY-wide program that assists students trying to launch or scale a new business. Faith currently lives in Brooklyn with her fiance and enjoys listening to reggae music, traveling the world and trying new foods.
