The Evolution of DEI Data Collection, Reporting and Analytics

In 2014, Rev. Jesse Jackson confronted Silicon Valley executives, shareholders, and directors on their lack of diversity. Over the past 6 years since this has resulted in a 35x increase in the number of tech companies publicly sharing their workforce diversity metrics. However, instead of releasing raw EEO-1 data, most companies modify and wrap the data in long, wordy, well-polished annual reports that end in “we still have work to do.” This session will explore the evolution of DEI metrics and reporting and how it can draw us closer to (or farther from) accountability.
